Woman believed to have died after choking on burger

  • Woman bought the food at about 12.30pm and parked her car in a spot to eat 
  • It is believed that half the chicken burger was found in her lap by police 
  • Officers believed there was nothing wrong with the burger itself 

A 47-year-old woman found dead in her car is believed to have died from choking on a chicken burger, the West Australian reports.

She bought the burger around 12.30pm from an unnamed fast-food restaurant.

The woman then parked her car in a quiet spot in the Waterford Plaza shopping centre’s car park, in Perth, to enjoy her lunch.

There is no witnesses to her death.

The woman, believed to be a mother-of-three, died shortly after arriving at Royal Perth Hospital.

A window in her car had to be smashed open to get to her as her car was locked.

In 2015, 16 people died after the food they were ingesting blocked their airways causing them to choke.

A further 28 died from choking on an object that wasn’t food, according to the Daily Telegraph.
