An elderly woman has been spotted using a water fountain in a busy Melbourne park to wash her pet Pomeranian’s bottom.
The woman was captured scrubbing her dog with the fountain at Fawkner Park in South Yarra.
An onlooker said her husband told the woman it was ‘disgusting’, but she ignored him and then stormed off after the confrontation.
She said another man unknowingly took a sip from the fountain just minutes later.

The photo was shared to Reddit with many slamming the pet owner, saying the fountain was commonly used by joggers in the park.
‘This is so wrong people nowadays have a sense of entitlement that they can do anything – they need to have some respect for others,’ one person wrote.
‘I knew there was a reason why I don’t use public water fountains,’ another said.
Some admitted they had already drank out of the fountain since the photo was taken.
‘I drank out of that fountain today. Too late for me,’ they said.
The onlooker said they had requested for the City of Melbourne Council to clean the park after the incident.
‘Not gonna lie, all these years my wife has said to me that people probably do some disgusting things with public fountains. I had literally never considered this as a possibility,’ another commented.
‘Thanks! I’m never drinking from a water fountain again,’ someone wrote.
The City of Melbourne Council told Daily Mail Australia they had no reports of the woman.
