Woman CRIED after applying fake tan and is left with streaks

A woman has revealed how crying ruined her spray tan – after photos of her streaky face went viral.

Alex Vinklarek, 17, from Houston Texas, said she was in tears just hours after the colour had been applied, leaving her with unsightly streaks down her face.

The teenager told Metro how she’d watched a heartwarming video that left her emotional, promptly ruining the spray tan she’d had for a cheerleading competition.

Alex shared her photos on Twitter, and they’ve since gone viral with more than 18,000 retweets – and have prompted others to share snaps of their own mishaps.

After getting the tan ahead of a big competition this weekend, the cheerleader relaxed in her car watching cute videos on Twitter and started to cry.

Alex clearly had a big cry as the streaks – which were white and framed with the brown tan – ran from her eyes all the way down to her neck.

She posted the images along with the comment: ‘I’ve always been told not to cry after a spray tan.’

She added: ‘I’m very aware of what happens when water touches it before you shower it off, but after I got sprayed I went in my car and started watching videos on Twitter.

‘I saw this really heartwarming video of a dog reuniting with its owner.’

Alex quickly realised her mistake after being told the golden rule of tanning was to stay dry afterwards.

She said: ‘I kept trying to stop crying but every time I looked at myself I cried more because it looked so awful.’

Alex was on her way to dinner and once she reached the restaurant she scrubbed her face to stop the streaks developing.

The next day she went back to the salon and had another spray tan, and her golden glow was fixed in time for her competition.

Her tweet of her hilarious mishaps has since gone viral, and has garnered more than 100,000 likes and retweets on the website.
