Woman criticizes Texas senator as they pose together for a photo

An Austin resident managed to criticize Sen Ted Cruz as she posed with him for a photo. 

The woman, identified as Rebecca, tweeted the photo on Friday that shows her standing next to an unsuspecting Cruz with a message on her lanyard. 

‘Texas deserves better than Cruz,’ the message read as the pair flashed their smiles.

In the caption of the photo, Rebecca wrote: ‘Got to meet someone who supposedly represents me today. Not for much longer, though! #BetoForTexas @SenTedCruz @BetoORourke.’  

Rebecca, who goes by the Twitter handle @LazyMillennial, identified herself as the young woman in the photo.  

It appears, she had opened her jacket just before someone snapped the photo of them together.

By Sunday night, the photos was retweeted more than 24,000 times and liked more than 100,000 times. Rebecca said the photo was taken at the airport after a flight from Washington, DC, to Texas.

Cruz is up for re-election in November. He is going head-to-head with Democratic Rep Beto O’Rourke.
