Woman dies in hit-and-run after she is struck by two cars – as cops search for the missing driver

Police are searching for a driver who was allegedly involved in a hit-and-run that resulted in a woman’s death on the NSW Central Coast.
Emergency services were called to Ocean Beach Road at Woy Woy about 7.50pm on Saturday night after a woman was struck by two separate cars.
The woman was allegedly struck by a southbound car and was thrown into the path of oncoming traffic before being struck for a second time by a different car.

The driver of the first vehicle allegedly did not stop to help the woman and drove away.
While the driver of the second vehicle – a man in his 50s – stopped his car and provided aid to the woman.
When paramedics arrived they found the woman suffering from critical injuries.
They worked alongside police officers to treat the woman but she died at the scene.
She is yet to be formally identified.
The driver of the second vehicle was taken to Gosford Hospital for mandatory testing.

A crime scene warrant has been issued at a property in the Central Coast area and police are now working to identify the driver of the first vehicle.
Police have seized a car that is currently undergoing forensic examination.
Officers attached to the Crash Investigation Unit are examining the scene.
