A young woman has drowned at a popular tourist spot after becoming trapped beneath rapids at the base of a waterfall.
The woman, aged in her 20s, was walking near a waterfall at Lane Poole Reserve in Dwellingup, Western Australia, when she slipped and fell on Wednesday afternoon.
Police say the woman was trapped under the water for some time before she could be found.

She could not be resuscitated by emergency services and tragically died at the scene.
Horrified witnesses said the woman was sucked under the rapids and it took 10 minutes for authorities to locate her body in the water, 7news reports.
Lane Poole Reserve is a popular camping spot for tourists, which is 100km from Perth.
A report will be prepared for the coroner.
