A woman has been fatally stabbed in an early-morning domestic incident in western Sydney.
Police and emergency services were called to a house on Pegler Avenue in South Granville about 6.15 on Thursday morning after reports of a stabbing, the Sydney Morning Herald reported.
The woman was stabbed in the chest, it is understood, and died shortly afterwards.
Ambulance and police arrived at the scene and a section of the street was cordoned off.
Neighbours gathered outside the property once emergency services arrived.
Police said a woman had been taken into custody and was assisting them with their inquiries.
A police spokesman said the stabbing was being treated as a domestic incident.
