Woman fighting for life and baby girl injured after unoccupied car rolls down slope and smashes into them

A woman is fighting for life in hospital and a baby girl is in a serious condition after a driver-less car rolled down a slope and ploughed into them. 

The 13-month-old baby and the woman, 67, were hit by the car at a cul-de-sac at Wood Ridge, near Edgewater Drive in Perth’s north, at 3.30pm on Friday. 

There was no one inside the vehicle when it collided with the woman and the baby.

Emergency crews rushed the baby to Perth Children’s Hospital where the little girl remains in a serious condition.

The 67-year-old woman had to be freed from under the car by firefighters. 

WA Department of Fire and Emergency crews used hydraulics to lift the car up so that the woman could be removed from underneath the vehicle. 

She was treated by paramedics at the scene for over an hour before she was transported to Royal Perth Hospital suffering critical injuries.
