Woman invents two ingredient French toast with twist

It may be getting toastier in Australia, but there is one special ingredient in this French toast recipe that will cool you right down.

This simple recipe only calls for two items: bread and your favourite ice cream. 

Posted by YouTube user, Ochikeron, the recipe has people intrigued by the unique addition.

Ochikeron explained in the video that you can use any bread you like, you just need to cut it to your desired size.

She used three different ice cream types, matcha, chocolate and strawberry, which left each piece of toast a different colour.

Ochikeron suggested adding an egg to the ice cream before you soak the bread to make it richer in taste.

The household ingredients were three eggs, dark or white chocolate and cream cheese.

The cheesecake only takes one hour to make from start to finish and contains 230 calories a slice.  

Ochikeron suggested that you brush the cake with apricot jam syrup or dust with powdered sugar to finish.

TWO INGREDIENT FRENCH TOAST 

Time:

30 minutes (incl. soaking time) 

Ingredients:

Eight pieces of bread and 100mL of ice cream

Directions:

1. In a bowl, melt an ice cream of your choice. If you want to make it rich, add 1 egg then mix well.

2. Cut and soak the bread pieces for over 20 minutes. Flip them over once or twice to soak evenly.

3. Heat butter (optional) in a frying pan if you are not using non-stick pan. Place the bread, cover and cook both sides on low for 3 minutes.

Serve with some ice cream if you like.
