Woman is fighting for life after horror crash on the M1 on the Gold Coast
A woman is fighting for life after a horror crash on a busy motorway.
Emergency services raced to an onramp on the Pacific Motorway at Molendinar on the Gold Coast on Tuesday night following a smash between a ute and sedan.
Queensland Police were told the ute was travelling southbound on the Smith Street onramp to the Pacific Motorway and had slowed to merge into the traffic when the yellow sedan crashed into the rear of the vehicle at speed.
A woman, 32, from Nerang was freed from the crumpled wreckage of the sedan was rushed to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a critical condition.
The driver of the sedan, a 34-year-old Nerang man, was also taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Investigations are ongoing.
