Woman known as ‘Little Devil’, to be tried as an adult for ‘luring four men into an ambush by MS-13’

A young woman who allegedly lured four suspected rival gang members to their deaths at the hands of MS-13 in a horrific quadruple murder will be prosecuted as an adult, officials say. 

The U.S. Court of Appeals affirmed the District Court’s decision to surpass a juvenile trial for the woman, known as ‘Diablita’ or ‘Little Devil’, in the deaths of Michael Lopez Banega, Justin Llivicura, Jorge Tigre and Jefferson Villalobos.   

The suspect, who was 17-years-old at the time, and another girl are accused of luring the victims to a prearranged section of the Central Islip woods to be ambushed. 

The men, who were suspected rival 18th Street gang, were reportedly bludgeoned to death with machetes, knives, tree limbs and an ax by MS-13 members in April 2017. 

One of the intended targets escaped and became government witness as the bodies were discovered the next morning. 

Judge Joseph F. Bianco cited the woman’s behavior in his decision, including she allegedly instigating the murders,’ New York Post reports.

Bianco said the woman, ‘[instigated] the murders, along with another juvenile female, by locating photographs of some of the victims flashing MS-13 gang signs on social media (which was viewed as disrespectful because the victims were not members of MS-13), and then showing those photographs to MS-13 members.’ 

News 12 reports that the woman confessed to the murder in a jailhouse phone call with her incarcerated boyfriend.

When asked is she was forced to partake in the vicious crime, she denied having been coerced.

‘No, I did it myself. I’m telling you, I did it myself. So now is my turn,’ she said. 

Federal court records allege that ‘Diablita’ was born in Maine, shuffled through family members, abused, drank heavily and worked for a bar at the age of 15. 

Four male MS-13 members involved with the case are already awaiting trial for the murders. 

Prosecutors claim the suspects planed to have the female associates lure the victims into the wooded area.  

Two pleaded guilty to the gruesome murder, facing sentences of 50 years and 55 years respectively. 

The Department of Justice released a statement after the two men were sentenced. 

‘MS-13 and the actions of the gang members in this case defy comprehension. These are teenagers who think human life is some sort of game, viciously murdering other teenagers because they were disrespected,’ stated FBI Assistant Director-in-Charge Sweeney 

‘The murders of four people during a single incident shows how vicious MS-13 members are.’

Lourdes, Lopez Banega’s mother, said: ‘Two years ago, we were a happy family and [Portillo] destroyed everything. Everything.’

Josue Portillo, now 18-years-old, pleaded guilty to stabbing the four victims in what authorities referred to as a ‘horrific frenzy of violence.’

Portillo was just 15 when he participated in the crime and initially faced life in prison before a federal judge gave him 55 years in June. 

Lourdes, Lopez Banega’s mother, said: ‘Two years ago, we were a happy family and he destroyed everything. Everything.’ 

Lourdes revealed that she has since joined therapy, is taking medication because of her son’s murder and that Portillo ‘doesn’t know the harm that he inflicted.’

‘My dreams were gone the night that Portillo killed my son,’ she said, weeping. 

Portillo admitted that he and anoter MS-13 members stabbed Lopez-Banega ‘knowingly, willfully and without coercion.’
