A woman has left her husband of 15 years after making a shock realisation about their relationship from a Valentine’s Day gift she bought for him.
The Australian mother-of-three made the decision to walk out on her marriage thanks to a gift notebook titled ‘What I Love About You by Me’.
The book is intended to be filled out by the gift-giver as a romantic personalised present.

When the 42-year-old began to fill in the blank spaces on the book’s pages, however, she knew she had to end her marriage,Nine Honey reported.
She said as she began trying to think of nice things to say she was unable to come up with anything.
She had no choice but to fill in the blanks honestly, which is when she realised she could not gift the book to her husband.
Then she realised she had to leave him.
As she filled out the book it became clear to the woman she was in a loveless and unhappy marriage.
To the prompt on page 13 saying ‘I wish I had known you when …’ she wrote ‘you were capable of real love’.

Turning to page 28 asked her to complete ‘I still can’t believe you …’ with ‘are such a terrible husband’.
Page 49 contained the prompt ‘Nobody can … like you,’ to which the devastated mother wrote ‘disconnect’.
Since making the decision to leave her husband – a move she said was long overdue – the woman has not looked back.
She said although it has been hard she is sure the choice was the correct one, all thanks to a gift she bought herself.
