Some of us may have tried to order cuisine from our native country when we’re on holiday abroad – to varying levels of success.
But an American was left in hysterics at what she thought would be chips and salsa, but turned out to be a packet of crisps and sachets of ketchup and mayonnaise.
The woman, named Kacie Burns, who lived in New York but relocated to Florence, took to TikTok to share the clip.

She explained that it’s ‘rare’ to find chips and salsa on menus in Italy, so when she spotted it on a night out, she had to try some.
Kacie said: ‘I live in Italy. I went to a restaurant the other day and say “chips and salsa” on the menu, which is rare to find in Italy.
‘I was SO EXCITED to eat chips and salsa.’
She then cut to a stock image of a tortilla chip being dipped into a bowl of salsa and joked that the dish was what she was hoping for.

Kacie then showed that what she got, and it was nothing like what she expected, adding that she ‘never appreciated’ the food back in the US.
The restaurant served her a bowl of crisps and two sachets of Heinz sauces – tomato ketchup and mayonnaise.
She captioned her video, writing: ‘An equal mix of hilarious and disappointing.’
It has since gone viral, being watched over 6.5 million times and garnering more than 758,000 likes.
Many people flocked to the comments to share their shock at the food mishap, as one wrote: ‘I was NOT prepared.’
