A shopper has been left baffled after she was sent two size eight bikinis bottoms instead of her original order of a size 16.

Katrina Harradine, 29, who usually buys size 16, purchased the Stripe Tie Triangle High Waist Bikini and several items of clothes online from UK retailer Boohoo in a £5 sale.

The freelance project manager, from South East London, placed the order on May 22 and stockpiled the summertime wear, leaving it in the packaging ahead of her upcoming holiday to St. Lucia on June 23.

But a conversation with her fashion designer cousin about outfit options for a candy-themed party on the Caribbean convinced her open her purchase.

Ms Harradine was left stunned after opening the delivery and discovering she had been incorrectly sent two size eight bikini bottoms.

She also claimed the bikini top, which was size 16, was made to fit a ’16-month-old baby or a woman with just one breast’.

‘I couldn’t believe it when I opened the package. I thought to myself, “why me? Why do I always get these ridiculous things happening to me?”, she added.

Ms Harradine took to Twitter to call out the UK retailer and shared photos of the ridiculous gaffe.

She wrote: ‘Hey @boohoo-cshelp did y’all run out of size 16 bikini bottoms so send me two size 8’s as a maths joke?? I actually wish I was kidding!’

‘Sizing is never perfect but you don’t ever expect anything as bad as this. You usually end up ordering and hoping for the best but this is ridiculous,’ she added in her Tweet.

She said: ‘I’m lucky I had a conversation with my cousin. I opened it up and put it against myself and go only fit one leg through.’

Ms Harradine claims she has been given a ‘feeble’ apology and told to send the package back along with a note.

MailOnline has approached Boohoo for comment.

Ms Harradine’s mix up with Boohoo comes after Sheree Scanlon’s bizarre switch up with Tesco, back in May.

This comes after Sheree Scanlon ordered a £1 'Bake with Love Sparkly Candle' in the number five, to decorate her daughter's Charlotte's cake from Tesco, back in May

Ms Scanlon ordered a £1 ‘Bake with Love Sparkly Candle’ in the number five, in order to decorate her daughter’s cake.

Instead of replacing the number five candle with singular candles, the delivery driver turned up with the mathematical equivalent – two 2s and a one.

The mother, 45, from Coventry took to Tesco’s Facebook page to complain about the blunder, and said she had decided against using the alternatives provided.

She said: ‘Absolute disbelief at the substitution from Tesco for a number 5 birthday candle. 2, 2 and 1 is not quite the same.’
