Woman posted Craigslist ad for a baby daddy

Couples meet in all kinds of unusual ways, but story is definitely more unconventional than most.

A woman, from London, revealed how she fell in love with her current partner after he responded to her online advert searching for a ‘man to get her pregnant’.

The pair were both desperate to have children and agreed they would co-parent, even though they were not in a relationship at the time.

After just four dates they started having unprotected sex and discovered they were pregnant within weeks.

Speaking to the BBC, the woman, who did not want to be identified, told how she found herself falling for her baby daddy – and the pair, who have a two-month-old, are now in love.

The woman, a teacher in her 30s, decided to take the unusual approach after two relationships came to an end in 2016 and she found herself growing increasingly anxious about starting a family.

She said: ‘I decided I could sacrifice romantic fulfilment as long as my child had two parents who loved and cared for them.’

After trying out a paid-for co-parenting website, she settled on Craigslist – an online classifieds site, where she shared a post asking for ‘Safe, bareback babymaking.’

The only requirements? Respondents needed to be at least 5ft 9in, under 40 and prepared to take an STD test.

The teacher searched through the flurry of explicit messages and found her now partner. She recalled: ‘He was 33 and also lived in London. He said he’d had some disastrous relationships but he loved being an uncle and wanted children of his own.’

The couple kissed at the end of their first date that night and decided to have sex after date four to decide if they were physically compatible.

Despite being prepared to wait for their baby, she discovered she was pregnant just six weeks after she had posted the advert.

The couple agreed not to sleep with anyone else but she didn’t want to ‘label’ the relationship. ‘I was delighted I was pregnant but I was wary that might make me think I was in love with him,’ she reasoned.

During the pregnancy she determined that her feelings were real and the father-to-be moved in two months before the baby was due. They’re even discussing having another.
