A woman who has just undergone one of the most popular cosmetic procedures on the market has spoken out about why having a bigger booty is better.
Tanya Bird, a childcare worker from Melbourne, recently went had cosmetic surgery bid to boost her derriere to Beyoncé-like proportions.
Right now the 27-year-old is in recovery from her Brazilian butt lift – a procedure she had just a week ago. And while she won’t be sitting down for a little while yet, she couldn’t be more thrilled by the results.
Before surgery: Tanya said a car accident had left her unable to work-out at the gym as intensely as she wanted to

Speaking to Daily Mail Australia, Tanya explained how a car accident in 2013 left her with injuries affecting her ability to workout at the gym.
‘After the accident I couldn’t do heavy squats. So this year I decided to reward myself with the bum I could have had if I hadn’t of had to go through all that,’ she said.
‘Plus, genetically I wasn’t very gifted in that department,’ she added.
Although Kim Kardashian’s well-endowed behind is a source of inspiration for many seeking the surgery, Tanya said she chose a ‘Beyoncé booty’ – on her surgeon’s advice.
‘It fits with the rest of my body shape. And I have thickish-sort of legs so it fits really well.’

The procedure which Tanya had at Cosmos Clinic in Sydney involves removing fat from one part of the body and re-injecting it into the buttock area.
On the day of Tanya’s surgery, she explained she’d first had Vaser 4D liposuction to remove fat from her stomach, hips and her thighs.
Although she wasn’t under a general anaesthetic for any part of the procedure, she said, ‘the whole thing was a lot less painful than I thought it was going to be.’
Tanya was up and walking around about two hours after the procedure
All up the treatment, including liposuction took a total of two hours, and Tanya said she was up and walking on the same day.
After care meant that for the next two days she needed to go into the clinic for lymphatic drainage, with the clinic offering advising ongoing care for the following two weeks.
Tanya explained she will spend at least four weeks recovering, and it will be six weeks before she can head back to the gym.
Tanya’s yet to see how her new asset actually looks in clothing because for now she’s wearing a compression suit that runs from her knees to her breasts
While nothing can daunt her enthusiasm for the procedure, she’s yet to see how her new asset actually looks in clothing because for now she’s wearing a compression suit that runs from her knees to her breasts.
Once she can dress, Tanya, who is usually a size 10, isn’t quite sure how her new size 12 asset will affect what she wants to wear.
Fitting jeans, she expects ‘will be a bit of a struggle’ but this isn’t something she’s too worried about especially as prefers athleisure wear: tights and tees, topped with a pair of trainers.
While finding jeans that fit might prove a problem, Tanya’s not too worried as she’s a big fan of athleisurewear
In anticipation of sporting her dream derriere she’s even bought ’20 pairs of leggings’ which she said she’s ‘finally looking forward to being able to fill out.’
‘It makes you feel more feminine having a nice big bum. I’m excited about wearing clothes and feeling better about myself,’ she said.
As excited as Tanya is by her bottom’s pending unveiling, she said no one has seen her new behind yet, aside from her parents who she lives with, and a couple of close friends.

However she said reactions have been positive, with ‘everyone really happy for me’, and as far as she’s concerned the $17,000 surgery has been well-worth it.
‘It’s a full body makeover. It’s a new person being born.
‘I feel more confident and more happier now.’

Right now it would seem the Brazilian butt lift is the cosmetic surgery du jour with every Instagram fitness model sporting a behind which appears sculpted to enviable proportions.
According to Dr Ajaka of Cosmos Clinic, the procedure is now incredibly popular, so much so he’s now performing the surgery at least three times a week, compared the the three a year the clinic was doing seven years ago.
The cosmetic surgeon told Daily Mail Australia social media and celebrities sporting curves had significantly contributed to the number of women seeking out the procedure.
Curves are definitely in and here to stay,’ said cosmetic surgeon Dr Ajaka

He cites the Kardashians, Beyoncé, and Jennifer Lopez as women with ‘amazing hourglass figures’ who are currently influencing the trend.
‘Curves are definitely in and here to stay,’ said Dr Ajaka.
He explained that while there are a number of looks available such as The Sports Illustrated (toned and perky) or Kim Kardashian (round and full) look, the most popular is the Beyoncé because it’s the most natural looking.
Although the surgery is permanent, Dr Ajaka said it can be reversed if there’s a a change of heart.
However he does stress, those who he’s seen have generally wanted the procedure for a while, so he’s certain there’s unlikely to be regrets.

Instagram models flaunting a fuller figure influenced Tanya’s decision to have a Brazilian butt lift
Tanya claims her decision was also influenced by Instagram models flaunting a fuller derriere, and while she said it’s possible that body trends could change, she said she happy with her choice.
‘You’ve got to prepare yourself for the fact that it could go that way.
‘But to me boobs and a bum are feminine, and I feel like femininity will never really go out of fashion,’ she concluded.
