Woman ties her son’s hands to her scooter and drags him

A young boy has apparently been tied to a scooter with strings by his mother before being dragged along the ground in south-west China.

The mother claimed she was punishing her son for being naughty as she pushed the scooter forward on the road.

One onlooker who witnessed the horrifying incident tried to stop her from abusing her son, but got told off by the mother who said she had been doing so for days.

According to Youku, the mother and son were spotted on the street of Zhaotong, Yunnan Province. 

The young boy, whose age has not been revealed, can be seen lying on the ground with his both hands being tied to the back of a scooter.

He was crying loud while being dragged by the scooter. 

His mother can be seen pushing the scooter on the driver’s seat. She was stopped and asked by an onlooker who drove past.

The mother said in the footage that the boy was too naughty and she was teaching him to behave.

She stated that she is the boy’s mother and had been doing it in the past two to three days. 

Web users criticised the mother’s abusive behaviour towards her son on Weibo, a Twitter-like social media site.

‘This is too cruel. Can we take away the mother’s custody right by showing this to the police?’ said ‘Zhaotongtongcheng’.

‘Cao_ji’ worried that if the boy would develop any psychological problems.
