- A Lincoln, Nebraska, woman filmed Monday’s eclipse in a time-lapse video
- But along with the phenomenon she witnessed a stellar proposal
- She wanted to share the video with the newly engaged couple but didn’t know who they were
- So he took to social media and within a day she had tracked them down so she could share the special moment with them
A time-lapse video in Nebraska not only captured the once-in-a-lifetime eclipse, it also filmed the sweet moment an Omaha couple got engaged.
Karin Dalziel captured the sweet moment when a man got down on one knee to propose to his girlfriend in Grand Island on camera.
She had no idea who the couple were but took to Twitter and Instagram after viewing the footage to track them down and within a day found Joe McIlhon, 35, who had proposed to his girlfriend Bria Christensen, 28.

Bria said when she and Joe heard about the video, she felt like they ‘hit the trifecta’.
Joe had business clients in Grand Island, Nebraska, who he emailed hoping they got to watch the eclipse and that they had a good time, Bria told the Independent.
In the email, Joe mentioned that he proposed. The clients then responded back with a link to an initial Independent article trying to identify them in the time-lapse video.
Upon seeing the article Joe said: ‘We’re famous!’
Joe and Bria now have a copy of the video thanks to Karin.
The couple met in 2013, as they both work in insurance and have been together since early 2016 according to the Independent.
