A Las Vegas police officer allegedly raped his wife’s friend while she was sleeping at the couple’s home.
Manuel Gutierrez, 37, was charged with sexual assault on Wednesday following the allegations from Vivian Solomon.
Solomon, of San Diego, had flown to Las Vegas last week to visit her longtime friend and meet Gutierrez and their new baby.
On Saturday night Solomon went to bed after sharing a few drinks with the couple.
‘All of a sudden I woke up and he was on top of me,’ she told News3.
‘I asked him to stop. Screamed for him to get out. I was so disoriented confused and scared.
‘His wife came in, kept apologizing, and said she had no words and she was so sorry this happened.’
Vivian Solomon was visiting her friend’s home in Las Vegas when the alleged assault occurred Saturday night. ‘All of a sudden I woke up and he was on top of me,’ she said in an interview with a local news station on Thursday

Solomon then left the house and went to a hospital for a rape exam.
She’s now back home in California, still reeling from the trauma.
‘I could not imagine that that would have ever happened. I thought I was in my best friend’s home in a safe place. The home of a police officer,’ she said.
‘I have to walk around pretending that everything is fine, when really inside, I have this secret. I am right back there, every second of the day, being assaulted again.
‘I am fully traumatized and I consider myself a strong woman and I am crumbled.’
Gutierrez, who has been an officer since 2014, is currently on unpaid leave pending an investigation.
His bail has been set at $25,000.
