A woman who publicly sacked a worker for advocating a ‘no’ vote on gay marriage has become the target of horrific abuse.
Madlin Sims of Capital Kids Parties in Canberra took to social media to reveal the nature of some of the vile messages she has received.
Ms Sims said she has received rape threats against her two-year-old son, as trolls from notorious forums such as 4chan bombarded her with hateful messages.

Not content with abusing Ms Sims, malicious internet users even released the address of her disabled father, she said.
‘The consequence for me has been threats against my family, the address of which my disabled father resides at being posted on troll forums … rape wishes made against my two-year-old son and over 400 threatening or derogatory messages sent directly to me,’ Ms Sims wrote online.
The business owner received huge amounts of online backlash, including being named a skank, wh**e, b**ch, putrid and a sl*t for firing 18-year-old Madeline after the teenager posted a profile photo with a Coalition for Marriage filter, according to news.com.au.
Ms Sims reportedly messaged Madeline after being made aware of the post, writing that the profile photo ‘really bothered me’.
She took to Facebook on Sunday to announce she had sacked the contractor from her company Capital Kids Parties, saying she had a responsibility to protect the vulnerable people they work with.
However, Ms Sims shared online on Wednesday that she did not fire Madeline ‘as she was a contractor’.

The businesswoman has been forced to shut down websites promoting her business, according to the publication.
In a bizarre twist, another children’s party website has been caught it the line of fire with online trolls slamming them, thinking it was Ms Sims’ business.

‘Pleases do not send us messages of abuse or make abusive phone calls to us, you’ve got the wrong company,’ they wrote.

Defending her decision to vote no on Triple J, Madeline said she was a Christian with gay friends and family, but that her religion played a strong part in her choice.
‘I have been raised a Christian my whole life and in the bible God clearly states that a man and a man, and a woman and a woman, are not to be together,’ she said.
‘I love everyone, I’m not a hateful person at all and I do believe everyone should have equality, but to vote yes to me is something I can’t do.’
Fair Work Ombudsman are investigating the case.
