One of the women told Seven News the man became ‘very worked up’ because they could not hand over everything he demanded.

‘He told us sit down, shut up and show [me] where everything is,’ one of the victims said.

He also grew agitated after learning the women only kept food and not precious items in their pantry.

As he marched the frightened ladies around their home, their two children awoke and one of the women alleged he lunged at her daughter with his weapon.

‘I was holding my daughter and he came at me with a hammer. So I wouldn’t put anything past him,’ the woman said.

After spending 40 minutes ransacking the home of a purse, $3000 cash, two watches, birth certificates and passports, the intruder jumped the fence and fled the scene on a pushbike.

Luckily, the man did not notice an expensive engagement ring worn by one of the women.

Police recovered the bike from a neighbouring property in their investigation into the home invasion.
