Women posted online to show off their collections, proving it’s not just celebrities and A-listers who have shoe closets to rival Carrie Bradshaw’s.

One woman called Cynthia started off the trend, by sharing a photo of her own impressive selection.

‘As a shoe fancier I needed bulk storage,’ she wrote on Facebook. 

‘These shoe racks hold 50 pairs each and sit in a corner of my walk in robe. I pick my shoes first and then my outfits.’

Her collection of shoes features rows of red heels, metallic sandals and brightly-coloured court shoes.

‘These are the Billy Bookcases from IKEA,’ she wrote.

‘I have the shelves two holes higher at the back so you can see the shoes but they don’t slide down. The larger space at the bottom is for boots.’

‘I thought this was the corner of a shoe store at first,’ one woman wrote.

‘This is absolutely amazing,’ another added. ‘I would probably sit there and watch the shoes all day.’
