Anticipation is running high for Sunday’s FIFA Women’s World Cup Final between the USA and the Netherlands, but the game may not make TV rating history. 

The game, which will kick off at 11am EST Sunday, may not beat the all time-record for American TV viewers to watch a soccer game which was set in 2015 with the women’s final with just under 26.7million viewers. 

Even if it doesn’t make a record for most watched game – Sunday may make a record for most-watched day of soccer in TV history. 

On Sunday in addition to the women’s cup final, it is also the Copa America final and the Concacaf Gold Cup final.

The telecasts are forecast to rake in more than 30million viewers for the first time in American TV history and could even hit the 40million mark, according to Forbes. 

So far rating suggest the women’s final will clock in a similar number of the 26million viewers as in 2015. 

Tuesday’s glorious victory over England averaged over 8million shared between English and Spanish language TV. Over 7million turned in on Fox. 

Those viewing numbers was only slightly down from the average of 8.4million viewers who turned into the USA victory against German in the 2015 semifinal.

Sunday’s Concacaf Gold Cup will see the USA and Mexico go head to head from Chicago’s Soldier Field at 9.15pm EST. Broadcasters are expecting a record-setting number of viewers for a non-World Cup broadcast. 

Schedule for Sunday’s games 

Women’s World Cup Final USA vs. the Netherlands: 11am EST  

Copa America Brazil vs Peru: 4pm EST 

Concacaf Gold Cup Mexico vs USA: 9.15pm EST 

The semifinal between Mexico and Haiti in the Concacaf Gold Cup averaged 4.1million viewers and the quarterfinal between the USA and Curacao last Sunday averaged 1.9million viewers. 

Lastly the Copa America – the oldest international soccer tournament in the world – will take place at 4pm EST where Brazil and Peru will fight on the field for the title of greatest soccer team in the Latin American league. 

Tuesday’s semifinal on Telemundo between rivals Brazil and Argentina averaged 2.62 million viewers. 

American viewership’s record for a non-World Cup soccer broadcast was set during the last Copa America final between Chile and Argentina – which was hosted in the U.S in 2016 and raked in 9.9million viewers.
