Woolworths is giving out free Google Home Minis to customers

Hundreds of shoppers across Australia have recently discovered a free Google Home Mini among their Woolworths home delivery – and it’s not an accident.

The no-strings-attached gift, which comes with a small thank you note, is being offered by Woolworths to customers who use the store’s online delivery service.

Many of those who’ve been lucky enough to find the $49 device included with their weekly shopping have excitedly shared snaps of them on Facebook.

‘So I just had my groceries delivered and this was inside one of the bags… what a pleasant surprise, thanks to Woolworths,’ one customer wrote.

The woman said she had no idea why she had received the gift and said she spends $220 per week on groceries on average.

Another added: ‘We got one a while ago! Felt so lucky. Still, no idea why.’

‘So I just got my Woolworths delivery and they have chucked in a free Google Home mini,’ a third wrote.

‘On the printed receipt it says its free and in brackets “(sampling)”… Anyone else lucky to get a freebie?’ 

Other shoppers who had also been given the device took to Facebook to say while they didn’t know why they’d been chosen, receiving the gift made them feel ‘lucky’

A spokesperson for Woolworths said offering customers a Google Home Mini was a ‘small way to say thank you’ 

A spokesperson for Woolworths told Daily Mail Australia the gift was a way to thank loyal customers and that it didn’t come with any hidden terms or conditions.

‘From time to time, we like to send Google Home Minis with home deliveries to online customers as a gift with purchase. 

‘It’s a small way for us to say thanks to our loyal online customers.’
