Woolworths launches new limited edition Birthday Cake mudcake in stores across Australia on May 31

Foodies are rushing to Woolworths to get their hands on a delicious new ‘loaded’ cake. 

The supermarket’s classic mud cake has been given a fun rainbow twist in the newly-released Birthday Cake flavour set to hit stores nationwide on Wednesday, May 31 until stocks last. 

With rainbow sprinkles in a rich vanilla mud cake drizzles with white chocolate ganache and topped with cookie pieces, the decadent bakery treat has had sweet-tooth Aussies drooling. 

While the $6.80 Birthday Cake isn’t being officially launched in stores until tomorrow some lucky shoppers have been able to find it stocked at their local Woolies.  

Food blogger Nectorious Papi was one of the lucky ones and quickly snapped up the cake to try for himself.

‘I think this is one of the best flavours they’ve ever brought out,’ he said in a TikTok clip. 

Some were adamant ‘nothing will beat’ the Woolies classic chocolate mud cake, but many were keen to try the exciting new flavour. 

‘I’m actually crying,’ one viewer said.  

‘Well I’m eating a salad right now so I think I’ll be allowed to scoff down a whole cake on my own for dinner right?’ joked a second. 

Ange Eats, another food blogger from Melbourne sampled the cake in an online video. 

‘This is literally a birthday party in my mouth, it is delicious,’ he said after biting into the cake.

‘Biscuit is insane, the cake is soft and spongy. Don’t miss out on this guys, go get it because it’s limited edition.’

Customers were also sharing their excitement for the special edition cake flavour on Facebook with one saying: ‘Shut up and take my money!’.

‘I want to devour it! Will be the first thing on my shopping list that’s for sure,’ one mum wrote. 

‘Love this variety. So didn’t see this coming!’ another said. 

The Birthday Cake mud cake comes after other special edition varieties including Mint Cookies and Cream, Caramelised White Choc, Mint Chocolate and Chocolate Orange.
