A man has committed a cruel prank on grocery shoppers after impersonating a Woolworths staff member and announcing a deal that was too good to be true.

In a video uploaded to TikTok, the man could be seen strolling down the supermarket aisle before grabbing the intercom system’s microphone and asking for the attention of all customers.

‘The refrigeration system is temporarily broken so for the next two minutes, everything in aisle 15 is now free. Thank you,’ he said.

The prank fooled some shoppers with the vision showing them rushing to the freezer aisle to open doors to grab the goods and race to the checkout.
