A confused shopper who constantly noticed a ‘rooster crowing’ every time she visited Woolworths has discovered the sound was actually alerting employees that the hot roast chickens were cooked.
Australian mum Emma was doing her regular grocery shop when she noticed the unusual sound coming from the rotisserie oven behind the deli counter.
She later realised the noise was notifying staff members the freshly cooked roast chickens were ready to be packaged into bags and put on display in the hot food cabinet.

‘Am I the only one that just realised this sound means the chickens are ready at Woolies?’ she said in her TikTok video.
‘Have heard this for months at our local and my seven-year-old and I are always wandering what it’s for.’
A Woolworths spokesman confirmed to Daily Mail Australia the rooster crowing is the sound of the alarm from the rotisserie oven to alert team members cooking is complete.
