World Cup 2018 LIVE: All the latest from fans and players in Russia 

World Cup excitement continues today as some of the first matches of the global tournament gets underway in Russia.

Thousands of football fans have descended upon the country for the event, sparking wild celebrations, in both Russia and at home in Britain.

England fans can relax until Sunday, coming off their last-minute win against Tunisia last night, beating the North African country’s team 2-1.  

Today, host Russia is set to play their second match, facing off against Egypt this evening.

Also playing today is Colombia against Japan, as well as Poland versus Senegal.

Senegal is returning to the World Cup for the first time since a run to the quarterfinals on its tournament debut in Japan and South Korea in 2002.
