Rob Page has signed a new four-year deal with Wales after leading his country to their first World Cup since 1958.

Page has done an outstanding job since replacing Ryan Giggs and has been rewarded with a contract that takes him to the end of 2026 World Cup qualifying.

‘There is no bigger honour than coaching your national team and I can’t wait for the challenge the next four years will bring, starting with our first World Cup in 64 years,’ said Page, who will lead his side against England during November’s group stage in Qatar.

‘This is an exciting time for Welsh football and I hope we can make the country proud in November and continue our success by qualifying for more major tournaments in the future.’

Wales also qualified for Euro 2020 under Giggs, though Page was in charge for the tournament last summer when they made the last 16 before losing to Denmark.

Page began with Wales as Giggs’ assistant but adapted quickly to the role of manager, earning the respect of Gareth Bale and Aaron Ramsey as well as guiding youngsters such as Neco Williams and Brennan Johnson through to the senior side.
