World’s first skin tone condoms launch in a bid to make sex more inclusive

The ‘world’s first’ skin tone condoms have been launched in a bid to make sex more inclusive.

Sexual wellness brand Roam, based in London, have created the condoms to help people of different ethnic groups feel more represented in the bedroom.

They are available in four colour choices: Dark Brown, Medium Brown, Light Brown and also in Original Latex.

The company claims that they are a world first, made in the UK and are also suitable for vegans.

For those trying to cut down their plastic usage, the contraceptive product’s packaging is also made from 40 per cent less plastic than traditional condom foils.

And every time a skin tone condom is bought, one will be donated to Brook, a sexual health and well being charity, to help make contraception more accessible.

A spokesperson from Roam says, ‘Roam has been built to end the stigma and shame in shopping for sex for everyone.

‘Legacy brands have failed to address nuanced needs of all sexually active communities.

‘The launch of our Skin Tone Condoms presents a choice that has never existed before, one that celebrates individuality.

The condoms are priced at £15 for a pack of 12, £20 for 18, or £35 for 36, and sizes include slim, regular, and large.

They will be available to buy from April 17 at Superdrug and Boots, along with Amazon and on Roam’s website.
