Hundreds of social media users flooded the post with their ideas and while many fans were thrilled with the idea, others weren’t so sure.

‘As long as that means you can have a Slurpee machine at your party, I’m up for that,’ one woman wrote.

Would you cater your event with a 7-Eleven party platter?

‘Could be a convenient idea for last minute meetings or functions. If you sold a medium/large plastic plate with a plastic cover (a bit like the cake covers in supermarkets) and then either had people order before or build their own in store that could work,’ another added.

Some even committed to calling in the platters for birthdays and weddings.

‘I so would order this for my 30th if you had them available now and save my wife so much time making her own platters,’ one male fan wrote.

‘Wedding food sorted,’ another added.

Among the many positive comments were a host of less approving ones.

‘This has got to be a joke right?’ One woman asked.

‘Imagine everyone coming into work. “Hey can i order a platter please?” At a servo…,’ another wrote.

‘One word – no,’ a sceptical man added.

They also sell breakfast bowls, wine, hot nachos, dumplings, taquitos and sweetbread sandwiches.

The platters have been a hit with the customers and while Australians may need some convincing, if the Hawaiian platters are anything to go by they could be in for a pleasant (and tasty!) surprise if Australia follows suit.
