Models have been raising eyebrows for wearing some very strange spikey hats on the catwalk at Milan Fashion Week.
They were seen strutting their stuff today in the bizarre headgear during the Bottega Veneta collection show for Womenswear Spring/Summer 2025.
The brightly coloured headpieces seemed to cover the eyes of the models, with some of them falling well below the shoulders.
They were advertising gear for Milan-based brand Bottega Veneta, which is revered for its ‘signature minimalist elegance and quiet luxury’.
The show was directed by Matthieu Blazy and was attended by stars such as Kendall Jenner and controversial Olympic boxer Imane Khelif.

Bottega Veneta became a part of France’s Kering group, which also owns labels such as Gucci, Yves Saint Laurent, Balenciaga, Creed and Alexander McQueen, in 2001.
But the brand’s distinctive approach to fashion has been proving dividends after its sales grew three per cent in the first half of 2024, compared to Gucci’s which dropped 20 per cent.
Bottega Veneta was founded in 1966 in Vicenza in the northeastern Italian region of Veneto, and is renowned for its woven leather goods and expert craftsmanship.
It is notably absent from social networks and thrives on discreet hyper-exclusivity. In 2021, it deleted its Instagram account to the chagrin of millions of followers.
The label is masterfully led by its artistic director, Mr Blazy, who took over as creative director at the end of 2021.
He is a Franco-Belgian living between Antwerp and Milan who began his career in fashion as a men’s designer for Raf Simons before joining Maison Martin Margiela.
Kendall Jenner, 28, put on a chic display at the event as she stepped out in a black long-sleeve dress which gathered around the waist with a gold buckle

He then moved on to Celine and Calvin Klein, before being appointed head of ready-to-wear at Bottega Veneta.
With expensive-looking materials and cult pieces such as jeans-like pants in calf leather selling for 5,200 euros, the brand has built up considerable cult status in recent years.
It also has a distinct lack of logos affixed to its products and opts for a sleeker design.
The bizarre headgear trend was also seen earlier this week during a Prada fashion show in Milan.
Models donned a striking array of unusual sunglasses and bizarre headwear from the spring/summer 2025 range.
But as outlandish as some of the new looks were, believe it or not, you’re very likely to be wearing them – or watered-down versions of them – next year.
