Who’s next? Well, for Colorado football head coach Deion Sanders, it’s WWE Hall of Famer Bill Goldberg’s son Gage, who committed to playing under Coach Prime with the Buffaloes on Sunday.

Gage Goldberg is a 6ft, 210-pound Class of 2024 linebacker, who isn’t ranked on the 247Sports Composite. Yet according to social media, Goldberg Jr has picked up several Division-I-scholarship offers, including from Duke, UCF and UTSA.

The 17-year-old first came to prominence during his dad’s return to the WWE in 2016 after a 12-year hiatus. After matches and promos, Goldberg would bring his son into the ring for a few cheers from the crowd.

Bill Goldberg, who famously wrestles under just his last name, was also a defensive lineman at Georgia and the NFL for several years before he began professional wrestling.

In wrestling circles, Goldberg is most famous for his quick rise to fame in World Championship Wrestling, which rarely pushed new talent to main-event status.

Goldberg was the company’s most obvious exception to the standard set by the likes of Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair, winning his first 173 matches with WCW.

After WCW folded, he spent one year in WWE before returning in late 2016. He made sporadic appearances for the company until his contract expired in 2022.

His two signature moves, the Spear and Jackhammer, both resemble football plays, leading Gage to possibly picking up a thing or two from his old man.

Goldberg also portrayed a football player in Adam Sandler’s remake of ‘The Longest Yard’ alongside fellow professional wrestlers Stone Cold Steve Austin, Kevin Nash and The Great Khali.

Nash was also the wrestler to snap Goldberg’s undefeated streak in WCW.

Sanders is entering his second season as Colorado’s head coach, going 4-8 with the Buffaloes in 2023.
