Viewers watching the latest episode of Channel 4’s Open House: The Great Sex Experiment were left shocked after contestants were filmed taking part in a group sex session.
The controversial show, currently in its second series, sees committed couples come to a luxury retreat to test whether opening up their relationships and having sex with other people can ‘strengthen their bond’.
However, viewers watching the latest episode were left squirming by the no holds barred 15-person orgy, which was dubbed an ‘after party’.
Sparking a deluge of negative comments on Twitter, the risque TV moment is the latest boundary-pushing show to be commissioned by Channel 4, with programmes such as Naked Attraction and My Massive C***, about men with extra large penises, airing in recent months.
In October, transgender comedian Jordan Gray sparked complaints after she stripped completely naked on live television during the channel’s revival of Friday Night Live – before playing a keyboard with her penis.
This week, those watching the latest developments in the Great Sex Experiment, were left equally stunned by the show’s boldness, with one viewer saying: ‘I can’t believe this is on normal TV’.
Another expressed fears that the children of those involved would see their parents partaking in the group sex session.
Couples at the sex ‘retreat’, under the guidance of a psychologist, are assessed to establish how ‘ready’ they are to try an open relationship as they’re introduced to a group of singletons.

Participants are then given a series of escalating tasks, each pushing them slightly further than the last towards actually having sex with someone other than their partner.
Couple Chanice, 31, and Richardo, 32, took part in Open House: The Great Sex Experiment to spice things up in their relationship, having been together for eight years.
During the latest episode, Chanice confessed she was feeling insecure during the show, breaking down in tears.
However later, Ricardo and Chanice began weighing up their options and discussing whether to indulge in a threesome or a foursome.

They began playing truth or dare with the other contestants in the house, and things quickly heated up. But the real drama started a little later when the pair announced the after-party.
Chanice said: ‘I think we just want to play, I’m just going with the flow.’
The couple made an announcement to the rest of the group, inviting everyone upstairs to the bedroom for ‘an after party’ and admitting they were hoping to ‘catch a vibe.’
Richardo said: ‘We just invited everyone at the party to the after party. There are so many experienced people. It’s just like…take us in.’
He did, however, manage to shake off some of his stage fright and the party ended with Ricardo and Chanice having sex in front of the group
The house guests were seen filing into one bedroom and before long the situation turned steamy with participants undressing and performing sex acts with each other.
As the action started to heat up and the bodies began to mingle, the reality of what was happening dawned on Richardo. Chanice said: ‘I didn’t expect that. Once the sex had started, it was difficult to get involved.
‘Obviously they’re pre-occupied and you don’t want to just jump in, if that makes sense.’
Eventually, resident Tony guides them into the action. While Ricardo reported feeling ‘overwhelmed’, Chanice took the plunge and went for it with two other women.
She said: ‘I’ve never really been intimate with a woman like that. I think the group setting takes the anxiety away. I didn’t think I would be on board as much.’
Richardo said he needed to ‘take a step back’ while he watched the others getting intimate with one another.
Other responses, however, suggested that some were more reserved and felt embarrassed by what they had seen
Ricardo received encouragement from the others to get involved in the action, but he looked less relaxed than his wife and decided not to stray far from her side.
He was heard saying: ‘I’d never been in a room with so many naked men.’
Viewers quickly took to Twitter to report their feelings from the shocking episode, with one jokingly writing: ‘I must report this filth to Ofcom.’

The same fan did not try to hide her enthusiasm, continuing: ‘I’d better watch next week to see if it gets any worse’.
Another fan was quietly pleased with what he had seen, stating simply: ‘Channel 4 never fails’.
But other viewers were rather more British in their response to the episode. One ‘accidental’ viewer wrote: ‘Film on sky finished and TV pinged onto #openhouse what fresh hell is this ?!? I can’t believe this is on normal TV’.
Another said: ‘What mad is these people have kids ….and their kids are gonna see this.’
A sixth commented: ‘I hope someone comes in and gives that room a deep clean before anyone else sleeps in there’.
