Yankees fans reveal eye-watering amounts they spent on World Series tickets before Game 3 loss to the Dodgers

New York Yankees fans were unafraid to splurge on tickets after the World Series shifted to the Bronx for Game 3 on Monday night.

Game 3 marked the first World Series game at Yankee Stadium since the Bronx Bombers clinched their 27th title against Philadelphia in 2009. Despite being down 0-2 in the series, diehards left dents on their bank accounts to root for their team.

Before the game, fans outside the stadium revealed the different amounts they paid to secure seats before the Los Angeles Dodgers took a convincing 3-0 lead.

The highest prices that subjects revealed were $4,000 and $3,000. The median amounts were $2,600 and $2,500, while a few paid $1,600, $1,300 and $1,200.

Another fan revealed that he and others paid $550 due to a season ticket pre-sale.

‘Gotta win tonight to make it worth it,’ one fan told DailyMail.com.

‘Were from the Bronx, we spend that money,’ another big spender claimed.

‘I sold my little brother for a ticket but we got it,’ a third fan quipped, keeping his ticket price a secret. ‘All my tuition is gone.’

Meanwhile, other fans revealed that the rare opportunity to see the franchise compete for a title makes the spending worthwhile. Another also cited family bonds as a reason to bite the bullet.

‘[I spent] $2,500 each but she really wanted to go, that’s my daughter,’ one dedicated fan said, hugging his daughter.

‘I wouldn’t say it’s an easy purchase for most of us,’ another chimed in. ‘But at the end of the day, it’s a lifetime commitment. If I gotta spend that $1,300, that’s what it is.’
