You can get high on ‘Monica Lewinsky’ weed from Washington

Sugarleaf Farm, a cannabis farm located in Bellingham, Washington, has produced a hybrid strain named after Monica Lewinsky

They say imitation is the most sincere form of flattery, so having a weed strain named after you must be somewhere high on the list of ways to compliment a lady.

At least, Monica Lewinsky seems to thinks so.

That’s lucky for Sugarleaf Farm, because the cannabis farm located in Bellingham, Washington, has produced a strain named after the anti-bullying activist.

Lewinsky, 44, found out the strain existed by seeing a photo of it shared on a Seattle-based product and lifestyle photographer’s Instagram page.

Instagram user ‘@Steinfarm’ shared an image of the packaged product on Nov. 12, which was credited as being found at a local dispensary that sells it.

When Lewinsky saw it, she screenshotted the image and tweeted it out late Thursday to her over-200,000 followers.

Clearly excited by the mention, she wrote, ‘guys!’ and added emphasis with several eyes-wide-open and finger-pointing emojis.

The Novel Tree Bellevue, located in Bellevue, Washington, saw Lewinsky’s excitement, and shared its own post hyping the hybrid strain of marijuana, which is available at its store.

If the Vanity Fair contributor had seen Sugarleaf Farm’s Facebook post introducing its hybrid plant from over a year ago, however, she may have been less enthusiastic.

‘Monica Lewinsky looking sexy as all getup,’ the post from Dec. 15, 2016 read. ‘Look out Bill!!’

This was an obvious reference to the relationship Lewinsky had with former President Bill Clinton while he was in office, an affair that he lied about while married to former Secretary of State and Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton and led to his impeachment.

The whole ordeal caused Lewinsky a great deal of public shaming and ultimately led her to be an outspoken advocate against bullying.

Ironically, the former president has claimed he’s not a fan of smoking weed.

‘When I was in England I experimented with marijuana a time or two, and I didn’t like it,’ he said at a candidates’ forum during his 1992 presidential campaign, Time reported. ‘I didn’t inhale it, and never tried it again.’

Regardless of the caption made in poor taste by the farm company and Bill Clinton’s distaste for the plant, Lewinsky’s namesake strand appears to have her stamp of approval.

According to the website lemonhaze.com, which is a resource site with all types of information on marijuana, 14 grams of ‘Monica Lewinsky’ has a suggested retail price of $104.

But for those out-of-towners who partake in cannabis consumption, you may be out of luck, because the ‘official’ word is that The Novel Tree only sells in-store.

A visit to the company’s website where customers can place orders for pickup says the store does not ship, and any information to the contrary that may show up on the page is not accurate.
