Young couple ‘ran a brothel out of their Pittsburgh apartment

A mother-of-three and her boyfriend allegedly ran a brothel out of their squalid apartment to pay for heroin debts.

Brittany Dawn Patrick, 26, and Lukas Roger Trout, 27, were charged with prostitution and child endangerment on the weekend.

Patrick’s 18-month-old son played in the apartment on the 300 block of Noll Avenue in Pittsburgh while she had sex with strangers.

Also in the home were two boys aged eight and 10 whose mother rented the couple the apartment. She has not been arrested and may have no involvement.

She allegedly told an undercover officer that she was working as a prostitute to pay for heroin, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

‘A substantial risk was posed to the children’s safety while inviting unknown and potentially extremely dangerous men into the residence to engage in prostitution,’ a police affidavit read.

Suspicions were raised when neighbours complained of unknown men coming and going for short visits at all hours of the day.

Police set up traffic stops in the area and none of the men could give names of the couple or a ‘reasonably believable purpose’ for their visits.

Detectives found Patrick’s online ads and vice and narcotics investigator Officer Gregory Woodhall with experience running stings answered one.

‘Looking for generous older gentleman to spice up our night… I’ll be waiting for you no game players as I don’t play games,’ the ad read.

Patrick replied and after Woodhall sent a photo she gave him the address and said it would be $120 for a half-hour visit, according to police submissions.

The detective went straight there and was met by Trout who was waiting at the door with an infant in his arms and the two older boys next to him.

‘Oh, dude, you can go up here,’ Trout said, according to the affidavit.

Woodall met Patrick upstairs where she took him to a back room with a mattress on the floor and told him to put the cash on the TV.

As she undressed she said she was prostituting herself for three to four months to pay for heroin. Then she was arrested.

Patrick was charged with prostitution, endangering the welfare of children, and possessing an instrument of crime as her phone was used to set up encounters.

Trout was charged with criminal conspiracy to promote prostitution and endangering the welfare of children.
