Young singer JD McCrary steals the show with Donald Glover

A 10-year-old singer stole the show at the Grammys last night while performing onstage with Donald Glover.

Donald, 34, who performs as a singer under the name Childish Gambino, won the Best Traditional R&B Performance for his song Redbone last night.

He also took to the stage during the evening to sing another title, Terrified, which features the young JD McCrary as a guest singer.

The boy confidently strode onstage three minutes into the performance, and immediately began to show off his impressive vocals.

JD, who told Ellen DeGeneres earlier this month he’s been singing since before he was two, didn’t miss a beat as he hit every high note during his duet with Donald, displaying the same ease as his 34-year-old colleague.

Amazed viewers immediately took to Twitter to rave about JD’s performance and demand more information about the incredibly talented boy.

‘If you didn’t know about JD McCrary now you know… That kid can sing,’ another person added.

Someone shared a clip of the performance and wrote: ‘Donald Glover singing alongside JD McCrary. They’re both playing Simba in the new Lion King. Gaaaah.’

JD, who can also be heard in the studio album version of the song, is also an actor and appeared in K.C. Undercover alongside Zendaya in 2015.

The boy, a native of Granada Hills, California, flawlessly performed the National Anthem at a Los Angeles Clippers game earlier this month.

During his interview on Ellen’s show, JD sang Who’s Loving You by The 5, and told the host how humbled he feels when people compare him to Michael Jackson.

‘That’s an honor. I just feel like sometimes I mess up, and I feel like I just need to do more work but I really appreciate everybody that thinks that I’m at the level of Michael Jackson,’ he said, before saying he’s a ‘big fan’ of the singer—using his Thriller jersey as proof.
