‘You can see its facial features’: The before and after pictures that Yowie hunters claim PROVE the mythical beasts exist
- A Yowie sighting was reported in the bush land of Tamborine on the Gold Coast
- Many believe the creature is real after a follow up photo showed it had vanished
- Dean Harrison, a Yowie expert said there had been several sightings in the area
New photos have circulated of a potential Yowie sighting which some claim proves the mythical beast exists.
One image shows a large black figure hidden in between a thicket of trees, in Tamborine on the Gold Coast.
Yowie expert Dean Harrison said the area was a popular place for Yowie sightings and that the image could be proof the creature exists.
The image captured on Google Maps shows a large, black figure (pictured) hidden in between the bush in Tamborine, Queensland
The photo was captured by Google Maps and posted on the Australian Yowie Research Facebook page, with many believing the photo confirmed the existence of the creature.
‘On closer view I can almost make out facial features,’ one Facebook user wrote.
Others weren’t so convinced and were under the impression the figure was just a fallen branch or part of the surrounding bush.
‘Looks like a bush with shadow to me,’ another said.
The images of the suspected Yowie (pictured) were posted to the Australian Yowie Research page with many speculating over the creature’s existence, some saying they could even make out facial features
‘Just shadow or a bunch of dead sticks. It looks too flat and too even in tone, and is deeper in that the surrounding yellow/green leaves.’
The day after the image was posted, one Yowie believer returned to the site to see if it was still there, but said the figure had vanished.
Mr Harrison, from the Australian Yowie Research group, told Daily Mail Australia the photo of the suspected Yowie was currently being analysed in America.
‘The area itself is known to us to be active. We have had reports from there before and I had an encounter at Eagle Heights, which is not far away back in 1995,’ Mr Harrison said.
Mr Harrison said that the Gold Coast was a common place for Yowies and there had been several reported sightings over the last few decades.
A follow up photo was taken at the site where the Yowie was spotted, (pictured) with many believing the photo confirmed the creature’s existence after it had vanished
‘That entire area of the Gold Coast Hinterland has had a huge amount of reports over many decades and we even know of two witnesses on two different occasions that have even been chased.
‘Many people say that (they) can make out two eye sockets, eye ridges, nose and mouth.’
One user said that because the same figure couldn’t be seen the following day, it was unlikely it was part of the bush.
‘I can assure you there has been no trees or branches fall at any stage this year,’ one woman commented.
‘This proves it. People need to accept the yowies exists!’ another said.
