  • Midfielder Yves Bissouma has continued to dazzle with Brighton this season
  • A target for top clubs, Bissouma said he wants to play in the Champions League
  • Ray Parlour singled out the star as the ‘one player’ he wants at old club Arsenal
  • He has also hailed Bissouma as ‘world-class’ and believes he has ‘got everything’

Arsenal legend Ray Parlour has lavished praise on highly-rated Brighton midfielder Yves Bissouma, claiming the star is the ‘one player’ he would want at his old club.

The talented Bissouma has impressed at the Amex since arriving in 2018, and also underlined his status as one of the most in-demand players in the process.

As a result, the likes of Liverpool, Manchester United and indeed Arsenal are all believed to have been keen, and Parlour says Bissouma has ‘got everything’.

Arsenal legend Ray Parlour has revealed he wants his former club to move for Yves Bissouma

‘I’ve said for a long time that Bissouma is a top-class player,’ he said on talkSPORT.

‘I would love to see him at Arsenal, I said that in the transfer window: the one player I would like to see is Bissouma.

‘I think he’s got everything. He’s efficient on the ball, he can put his foot in as well, he can pass.

‘He probably could score a few more goals I should imagine, but he’s not in the position to score goals. He’s the one that is going to keep everything ticking.’

Bissouma has also hit the ground running this season with Brighton currently sitting pretty in fourth spot, but is expected to eventually leave in a big-money move.

It was reported last month, before the summer window slammed shut, that Liverpool made an opening move for him, with Bissouma valued at £40million.

His club were in no rush to sell him, however, having begrudgingly allowed defender Ben White to leave for Arsenal in a £50m deal.

Parlour believes that deal, also to his former side, played a role in Bissouma staying put at Brighton, but says he will continue to dazzle.

‘I’m sure Brighton had to sell one of their players and it was Ben White in the end for £50m,’ Parlour added. ‘But I think he’s going to be a top star, Bissouma.

‘He’s only 24 [sic] as well so he’s got lots of time in front of him.’

Meanwhile, Bissouma himself has admitted he is keen to play in the Champions League in the future, but insisted he was reluctant to leave Brighton too early.

‘I didn’t go this summer, maybe its because it’s not my time to go,’ Bissouma told Brighton’s official website.

‘When my time will come, it’s my time, but I’m happy in Brighton, I’m enjoying playing football.

‘My dream is like every player, I want to play in the Champions League, I want to be champions. I want to compare myself on the top level, not just with other players.’
