Zoe Kravitz’s directorial debut BLINK TWICE starring Channing Tatum is terrifying. Here’s why it’s the must-see thriller movie of the year

The gripping psychological thriller BLINK TWICE is Zoe Kravitz’s directorial debut and stars her real-life fiancé Channing Tatum as a charming tech billionaire who owns a private island.

Tatum’s character, Slater King, crosses paths with a cocktail waitress named Frida (BAFTA winner Naomi Ackie) at a gala he attends.

He invites her to accompany him to his island ‘for a few days’, to which Frida agrees and brings along her close friend Jess (Alia Shawkat).

Frida and Jess also meet all his friends: childhood pal Cody, ‘left and right-hand man’ Vic, Tom, Sarah, the resident ‘wonder boy’ Lucas, Heather and Camila.

‘Did we just jet off to a billionaire’s island with a bunch of strangers?’ Jess says in the film’s trailer, to which Frida answers, ‘No, he’s not a stranger. He’s Slater King!’

But after wild nights of partying and taking advantage of the luxurious lifestyle, they soon find out it is not the dream vacation they initially thought.

And when Jess suddenly vanishes, Frida begins to question her surroundings and is forced to uncover the truth if she wants to make it off the island alive.

The film, shot in Mexico, was previously called P***y Island, but Kravitz decided to change the title to BLINK TWICE to benefit the film’s viewership and reach.

‘I think that’s something I have the responsibility as a filmmaker to listen to,’ the Los Angeles native told Entertainment Weekly. ‘I care about people seeing the film, and I care about how it makes people feel.’

Kravitz said that she and Feigenbaum began penning the script for the film seven years ago, and the original title was the first thing she put to paper.
