A 15-year-old girl has been assaulted on her way to school

  • Authorities are searching for man aged between 20-35 in the Rooty Hill area
  • He allegedly attacked a young girl on her way to school on Tuesday morning
  • He was wearing grey track pants and a Nike jumper during the incident
  • The girl managed to pry herself free after she was sexually assaulted by him 

A 15-year-old girl has been sexually assaulted by a man of ‘African’ appearance on her way to school in Sydney’s west.

The girl told police she was walking down a laneway between Charlotte Road and Brussels Crescent, Rooty Hill, at 9.15am on Tuesday when she saw the man lying on the ground.

As she walked past the man he attempted to talk to her but she promptly ignored him and kept walking towards the school gates.

As she moved forward, the man got up from the ground and pushed her against a nearby fence.

NSW Police said he sexually assaulted the girl before she managed to free herself and run away.

She immediately reported the horror attack to Mt Druitt’s police department.  

The man has been described as African in appearance, aged between 20-35, with a tall thin build and wearing light grey track pants with a Nike jumper with a hood.

Police are urging any member of the community who may have information regarding this incident, or may have seen a man matching this description loitering in the vicinity of the Charlotte Road laneway, to contact police at Mt Druitt.
