South End school posted on their Facebook page that there was a very strong smell as approximately 1pm.

‘A plane flew in a southward direction and one student had seen ‘stuff’ coming out of the plane – so we assume it was a fertiliser of some sort – several student have experienced feeling quezzy and ucky (sic),’ the first post read.

Just one hour later the school said, ‘ALL students are fine and being looked after – please respect the police and services by not trying to get in the school grounds.’

Decontamination units have been set up at the gates of the school to eradicate the substance.

‘This a precaution as we do not know what the substance is so we are treating with caution,’ South End said.

Parents have been asked to go home and get a change of clothes for their children.
