Children scream as lorry smashes into their car on the M20

This is the horrifying moment children screamed in terror as a lorry and their car collided and the HGV drove along a motorway with it stuck to the front of his cab.

Scott Hall, 41, was driving back home to Gillingham in Kent on the M20 from a day trip to Hever Castle yesterday just after 5.30pm when the crash happened.

A shocking dashcam video shows the car spinning around after being struck by the lorry, prompting shouting from him and chilling screams from his daughter Lily.

Mr Hall can be heard yelling ‘What the f***’ and ‘You f***ing w***er’ as his 39-year-old wife Beth tries to calm screaming Lily, saying: ‘It’s alright, alright.’

Another man – believed to be the lorry driver – then enters the frame of the video wearing a Bluetooth headset.

Mr Hall said on Facebook today: ‘So this is what happened to us on the way back from Hever Castle yesterday. Hit by a Romanian HGV. Span us out.

‘Outside Beth and Lily’s window was the front of the HGV as it pushed us along the M20. We are all OK. Cannot say the same for the car though.’

Mr Hall’s friend Dan Richards said on Facebook: ‘Glad you’re all safe mate. Luckily the car is just metal so can be replaced.

‘I also see it a lot on the road and there was no reason why it happened apart from him losing concentration somehow and drifting into your lane.

‘Only thing I’d say in hindsight is once past them get ahead safely and quickly so you aren’t in that position. Done well to keep your temper mate.’

And Mr Hall replied: ‘Thanks Dan. Thought I had passed him. Had to slow as traffic ahead was slowing. Guess I was in his blind spot.’

Another friend, Nigel Gray, added: ‘That looks s*** scary mate – glad you’re all OK even if the car isn’t. Look on the bright side – you all got out alright and you’ve now got an amazing story to tell!’

Mr Hall responded: ‘Definitely mate. Us being OK is the main thing. Amazing what goes through your mind at the time.’

The lorry driver’s HGV carried the logo of ‘Ravitex’, a Romanian haulage firm set up in 2002 which has 250 big trucks and 320 semi-trailer trucks in its fleet.

The company has been contacted for comment by MailOnline today.
