Man drowns after boat capsizes off Melbourne

  • Man drowned when his boat capsized off the coast of Melbourne on Thursday
  • He was pulled from the water along with a woman by another boat
  • The ship rushed them to St Kilda Marina where emergency services met them
  • Woman is in a serious condition in hospital with hypothermia 

A man aged in his 50s died and a woman is in hospital after their boat capsized off the coast of Melbourne.

Another boat pulled the pair from the water near Frankston and rushed them to St Kilda Marina where emergency services met them about 10am on Thursday.

The man was dead at the scene and the woman was taken to The Alfred Hospital in a serious condition with hypothermia.

Police said his death was not suspicious and a report would be prepared for the coroner.
