The man at the centre of a video which shows a kangaroo’s throat being slit 18 times has been charged with killing the animal.
The 43-year-old, from Ringwood in Melbourne’s East, was arrested after the video which allegedly shows him killing the native animal went viral.
Officers allegedly seized firearms, knives and mobile phones from the man’s home.

The footage which was posted online allegedly shows the Chinese man approach the animal whose leg was injured.
The man, who appeared to be brandishing a hunting knife, avoided several attempts by the kangaroo to strike out at him as it tried to escape from the hillside in the Australian bush.
He then allegedly grabbed the marsupial by the tail as in snarled at him, before holding it down with his foot.
The man then allegedly stabbed and slashed at the kangaroo’s neck 18 times until it finally went limp and stopped crying out in pain.
