Mom charged with trying to help her two sons flee police after ‘raping and murdering boy, 16’

The mother of two sons who are charged with raping and murdering a 16-year-old boy is now facing charges of her own for trying to help them flee police.

Kindra Rose Adamson, 43, was arrested in Washington on Tuesday afternoon and charged with two counts of rendering criminal assistance.

Detectives believe she became aware of the death of Ben Eastman, 16, shortly after he was killed, and delayed a police investigation so her sons could get away.

Her sons Jonathan Adamson, 21, and Benny Marquez, 16, are accused of inviting the teenager – who was Marquez’s friend – to go on a camping trip with them in late June, where they allegedly hit, kicked, raped and murdered him.

Court documents obtained by The Daily Chronicle allege Adamson’s sons told investigators they had told her they’d killed and buried Eastman.

When investigators came to speak with her days later, Adamson allegedly claimed Eastman ‘was like a son to her’, but had begun using drugs and would probably be home within a few days.

The mother-of-two’s bail has been set at $100,000, and she made her first court appearance on Wednesday.

She is not the only one to be facing charges for helping the brothers. Jonathan Adamson’s girlfriend Emma Brown was booked into the Lewis County Jail on Wednesday, also facing charges for allegedly impeding the investigation.

Prosecutors alleged she told her boyfriend she still loved him, despite feeling upset about the murder. They say Brown did not tell police what she knew.

Jonathan Adamson and Marquez allegedly asked Ben to come into the woods for a camping trip on the morning of June 24.

While they were hidden in woodland, charging documents obtained by Q13 Fox say the pair allegedly spent between 20 and 45 minutes assaulting the teenager, kicking him more than 100 times.

Jonathan Adamson allegedly told detectives he and his brother had also sexually assaulted Ben with a stick before finally killing him, hitting him in the head with a rock to ensure he was dead.

After the horrific attack, prosecutors allege the pair buried Ben, burning his clothes, their own clothes, and the shovel they used to dig his grave.

Ben’s body was originally buried in a shallow grave on the property, before his body was moved. Police were told the grave was for a dog that had recently died.

A pathologist said it was likely Ben was kicked more than 100 times, and said he had died from blunt force trauma.

Jonathan Adamson and Marquez were found in Yakima County, where they were arrested and taken into custody.

Jonathan Adamson has pleaded not guilty to rape, murder, tampering with physical evidence and unlawful disposal of remains.

Marquez faces the same charges, and will be tried as an adult. He and his brother are each being held on a $10 million bail.

According to court documents, Marquez (pictured) and his brother assaulted Ben for 20-45 minutes.

Ben was a rising junior at White Pass High School. He loved to camp, fish and ride dirt bikes with his dad.

Ben’s father, Benjamin Eastman, told KCBY that he leaned on the court railing when the boys faced court earlier this month to make sure the brothers couldn’t miss him.

‘I wanted them to look at me, I wanted to look them in the eye,’ the teen’s father said.

‘There is evil people out there. I don’t know what makes them tick. I don’t want to know. I’m loved, and my son was loved and that’s all I’m about,’ his father added.

Police said they are still trying to figure out what the brothers’ motive was as they continue their investigation.

On Monday, authorities decided to charge Marquez as an adult, and a judge ordered the brothers held on $10million bail. Detectives are pictured at the scene of the crime
