Real Housewives Of New York City: Bethenny Frankel sobs during Puerto Rico aid mission with Dorinda

Bethenny Frankel broke down in tears during an aid mission to Puerto Rico with Dorinda Medley on Wednesday’s episode of RHONY.

The 47-year-old reality star returned to Puerto Rico with Dorinda, 53, to hand out $125,000 in cash cards.

The Skinnygirl Cocktails founder was back on the island 68 days after it was leveled by Hurricane Maria during the 2017 Atlantic hurricane season.

‘It’s been several months since the hurricane and it looks like it was yesterday,’ Bethenny said.

‘We are so out of touch with our eyelashes, and our selfies and our bulls*** and literally people don’t have the basics,’ she added. 

Dorinda gave a present to an adorable girl living in the shell of a house and was shocked by the ‘total devastation’.

Bethenny gave the girl’s mother $300 worth of cash cards.

‘She wants all the things for her daughters as we do for ours,’ Dorinda noted.

Bethenny got emotional after learning the girl was age seven – the same as her daughter Bryn.

‘It’s unreal. It’s so sad,’ Bethenny said as she became overwhelmed.

Back in New York, Ramona Singer took a limousine drive with Sonja Morgan out of the city for a shopping trip.

They had fun as Sonja was back to her old self and was flirting with guys and teasing Ramona.

‘Sonja is in rare form. I don’t care if she’s ribbing me,’ said Ramona, who admired Sonja as she tried on tight jeans.

Luann de Lesseps, 52, met up with theater director Ben Rimalower, 42, as they discussed a cabaret project together.

The Countess she sang on Broadway once and afterward received a little compliment from Liza Minnelli.

Luann at Ben’s urging then sang a little Happy Birthday song to ‘dear Benny baby’ before they kissed on the lips.

The whole group with the exception of Dorinda then met up for dinner where Ramona was enjoying expensive wine.

Sonja was ignored by Tinsley Mortimer, 42, who whispered with her new best friend Carole Radziwill, 54, about her.

Bethenny was sympathetic toward Sonja who was being iced out after opening her home to Tinsley when she was down and out.

She brought the matter up to Tinsley who was quickly defended by Carole.

The exchange soon became a shouting match between Sonja and Tinsley and Carole and Bethenny.

‘Get off my jock,’ Carole at one point told Bethenny stealing her line from season seven.

Bethenny then complained that Carole doesn’t have her ‘own voice’ and always acts on behalf of someone else.

Ramona kept quiet during it all and Luann called it ‘sad’.

Carole then met with Cosmopolitan editor-in-chief Michele Promaulayko about writing an online column.

The reality star mentioned the #MeToo movement and said she could write her own story with an oblique reference to being sexually harassed.

Dorinda then caught up with Bethenny and said the Puerto Rico trip had given her an ‘adjusted mindset’.

Bethenny relayed her dramatic dinner with Carole and Tinsley and Dorinda asked about her interaction with Carole’s ex-boyfriend Adam Kenworthy.

The philanthropist revealed asking Adam to be part of her aid effort as a photographer to document their efforts.

‘He asked what’s the comp. There is no comp,’ Bethenny told Dorinda about his request for compensation.

‘It just rubbed me the wrong way,’ said Bethenny who told Carole that Adam was a ‘bit of an operator’.

Bethenny said that Carole stood up for him and said he was a ‘hustler’.

She admitted that she regretted the statement and Dorinda noted the change in her relationship with Carole.

Bethenny said she recently realized she has little in common with Carole who isn’t married, doesn’t have children and ‘doesn’t have a career’.

Sonja invited Ramona and Luann over to help paint her outdoor furniture before she rents out her townhouse.

Carole invited the women to her friend Karen ‘Duff’ Duffy’s book party.

Ramona tattled to Carole that Bethenny called her a ‘puppet’, but video replay showed Bethenny being misquoted.

Carole then confronted Bethenny who denied calling her a puppet.

Bethenny during a confessional admitted that she believes Carole can be ‘moved by someone else pulling strings’, but said she didn’t use the word ‘puppet’.

Tinsley and Sonja made up at the book party after a private chat with the cameras rolling.

They hugged after Tinsley urged her to speak directly with her if any issues arise between them. 

Dorinda then surprised the group by revealing she was hosting a Murder Mystery party at her home in the Berkshires.

A preview showed Bethenny and Carole in a heated argument.
