SA welcomes latest jobs figures

Full-time employment in South Australia is at a seven-year high at 545,000, the state government says.

Labour force figures for April put SA’s unemployment rate at 5.9 per cent, compared to 5.6 per cent in March, but the state still has the third-lowest rate in the nation.

“The state government welcomes the increase in full-time jobs last month, but we know there is a significant amount of work to do to lower costs for businesses and further strengthen the South Australian economy by creating more jobs,” Industry and Skills Minister David Pisoni said on Thursday.
