Siri embarrasses woman by texting her crush

A woman who asked Siri whether her crush would ever text her was horrified when Apple’s software write the man a message asking him to do just that.

Cecilia Mula, who is based in Nashville, Tennessee, took to Twitter earlier this week to recount the hilarious mishap.

‘I just asked Siri if a certain boy would ever text me and she sent a text saying will you ever text me to him. My funeral will be held at 8pm this Thursday,’ she wrote.

Her message has since gone viral, and has been retweeted more than 100,000 times while receiving more than 500,000 likes, and plenty of responses from amused Twitter users.

‘I haven’t had to date for 24 years but the sympathy and contact horror are SO REAL right now. You poor thing,’ someone wrote in a compassionate message.

Although Cecilia’s revelation also caused some confusion, with a few people tweeting in response to ask her how the message was sent automatically, when Siri is supposed to ask an iPhone user to hit the send button before going ahead with the text.

Cecilia, a student and freelance stylist, then confessed that she actually hit send after the software composed the text when she was trying to exit that feature.

And the young woman’s relationship with technology didn’t get any better from there, as she revealed that not only did her crush receive the message, he also saw the tweet she wrote about the entire incident.

‘In retrospect, no I wouldn’t have tweeted this if I knew it would eventually show up on his timeline. But honestly that’s on you for leaving me on read,’ Cecilia wrote in another post.

Cecilia’s crush, however, did text her back but didn’t seem especially moved by her text, simply telling her ‘haha’.

‘Funeral’s been pushed up! BYOB!’ Cecilia wrote in a humorous tweet expressing her despair.

She later updated her Instagram followers, revealing that her crush has stopped following her on all social media platforms.

‘Thank you all for the kind words during this tragic time! For those of you wondering, yes he did text me back and no he no longer follows me on any form of social media,’ she wrote.

Cecilia – known as Ceci – then added: ‘Prayers greatly appreciated!’

But Cecilia did find some form of silver lining in her mishap, adding: ‘On the bright side though @parishilton followed me on twitter. The lord surely restores the broken-hearted.’
